Let's Meet Them in Heaven

Do you know that we will recognize our loved ones and friends in heaven? This makes heaven so dear to our hearts. At my age I think I have more friends in heaven now, than here.
David fasted and prayed when his son was very sick. But David declared with deep assurance when his little sick son died. He said these comforting words to his household: “my son will not come back to me, but I am going to him.” In heaven we will meet, not only our dear families and friends who trusted in Christ, but also all the believers through the centuries—Old Testaments prophets, apostles, reformers and our loved ones… What a grand reunion!
Some people ask whether we will recognize our loved ones in heaven? Yes, we will.
Matt. 8:11 “I say to you that many will come from the east and the west and will take their places at the feast with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.” (NIV)
Abraham, Isaac and Jacob who lived many hundreds of years before Christ had not lost their identity. In the Mount of Transfiguration Moses who had gone 1500 years before Christ was recognized by Peter, James and John. Moses and others did not lose their name and identity.
What makes our home so precious and sweet? Beautiful design? Manicured lawn? Lovely trees and flowers? Beautiful expensive paintings? Incredible landscape? Beautiful furniture? Is that all that makes a home attractive and beautiful? It may help. Above all, the love ones who live there. Heaven is precious because we will recognize our love ones there. That makes heaven our home. And above all we will recognize our Saviour and Redeemer. That’s awesome.
But the burden is put upon us who know the Lord Jesus as Saviour. Let us witness and take as many people as we can to heaven. Salvation belongs to the Lord and He commands us to share this gospel of salvation—so that we will meet them in heaven. Share this precious gift. Amen-all by grace alone, by faith alone, in Christ alone who is the object of our faith.
