God’s intention for you as His masterpiece

It is now my intention to show you the joyful fellowship of the Triune God and why they have created things and man, the crowning glory of His creation-His masterpiece. The Trinity is the fundamental and the most beautiful doctrine of the Christian faith. This means that God is primarily a relational being. The Father, the Son and the Spirit have a joyful fellowship and relationship that has always existed. And God wants to share with us and include us in that joy and fellowship which they have/had from eternity. How marvellous! Awesome!

Let us consider some verses from the Scriptures with simple comments or explanation:

Psalm 16:11, the Psalmist said, “You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasure forever.” God is not boring, because in His presence there is fullness of joy. There is no other better place to go, than to be in His presence. Wow!

John 16:12-15, Jesus said, “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. All things that the Father has are mine (Emphasis mine).Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.” (MS NKJV).

John 17:13, the whole chapter is Jesus’ prayer to the Father, but let me emphasise verse 13 which says, “But now I come to You, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have My joy fulfilled in themselves.”

David Jeremiah, in referring to Psalm 16:11 says this: “What exists in God’s presence? Fullness of joy! What do we find in His right hand? Pleasure forevermore! When we are with God, we are on the scene of endless explosion of absolute pleasure and joy. The first and fundamental reason why heaven will not be boring is because heaven is God’s place and God is not boring…The God we serve is the most exciting, adventuresome, creative Person you can imagine, multiplied a million times over. We can’t begin to comprehend the excitement that belongs to the Triune God with whom we are going to spend eternity.” (Revealing the Mysteries p 62, 63). They have that awesome relationship from all eternity, and for all eternity.

The Triune God are joyful Persons. The Trinity is not an abstract idea, not a faceless and nameless all powerful being stated in our church constitution or to any Catechism written in the back of some hymnbooks or Bible—to give a summary of who God is. God is not a legalist who spies on us whether we obey the rule or keeping an account of every wrong thing we did. He is not a ‘kill joy’ God. As Professor James M. Houston said; “God is infinitely relational, intimately personal, and in Jesus Christ also profoundly human…As we recognised God in all our emotions, all our joys and pains, our identity becomes strengthened and secure ‘in Christ.’ For we are bound together in the circle of life, as shared eternally by the Father, Son, and Spirit. (Kruger’s Dance in p. 6,7 Foreword).
