God's Plan

Again please read Rom.8:28. Today I would like to emphasise the word ‘together.’ This means that all our experiences in our lives as believers in Christ work together for good, not separately. Not just a single detail alone works ultimately for good to the children of God. We need to see the entire chain of events in our lives. Not just at one side of one link in the chain. This means that the events in our lives are fitting into an overall plan. Our God who knows everything can look down, back, and forward through the years of time, but we cannot as human beings. That is why we have to trust Him every moment of our lives.

Today is the 24th of February. It is my spiritual birthday. Fifty five years ago when I opened my heart and accepted Christ as my Saviour and Lord. I can see crystal clear the past and that all things work together for my good. I can see the hands of God leading me to where I am today. Not that I deserve it, but it is all because of His GRACE. As the hymn writer says, “Nothing in my hands I bring, only to Thy cross I cling.” One Day at the judgment seat (Bema) of Christ for the believers, if He give me a ‘crown’ or any ‘rewards’ or ‘awards’ I am happy to cast it before the throne, just like the 24 Elders’ worshiping in heaven ( Rev.4: 9-11 a representation of the believers). Today and on that coming Bema, I would express with all my heart the main things: I would be forever grateful for His first coming upon this earth to die for my sins on the cross; I would be forever thankful for saving me and giving me the real meaning and purpose of life; I would be forever thankful for giving me the privilege to serve Him during my short span of life here on earth. I would be forever grateful for using people for my conversion and growth in the Christian life. I would be forever grateful for my wife and family; and of course other small things that gives Him the glory and honor. It is worship!

It is true to say that sometimes we wait for a number of months and even years (many years) after perplexing events have occurred, and then we understand why something happened as it did. Another fact is that sometimes we will never know the real meaning of our pain and tears on this side of heaven. We just have to wait until we enter heaven-in the very presence of God we will fully understand everything. Indeed “all things work together for good to those who love God and to those who are called according to His purpose.” Let us be faithful. Let us praise and worship Him with all our hearts. All by grace and by grace alone.
