The Blessed man part 4

A godly person has a wonderful and a blessed final destiny according to Psalm 1: 6. The godly will not perish. This is compatible with the NT teaching. Jesus said in John 5:24 says, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgement, but has passed from death into life.” You have been transported, transplanted from death to life, from judgement in hell to everlasting life. And here is our final destiny, we have everlasting life with the living God.

1 Thess. 4:13-17 “But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, (there were ignorant brethren in those days) concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.”

A godly person has a destiny. Not only transplanted here, in this life, but one Day he will be finally transplanted, translated, transported to his final destiny. Believers will have this experience, to have a final place beyond this life. This place is called Heaven. Is it not interesting to notice that when we buy a new house we want to know everything about it? Yet, the average Christian knows very little about Heaven, their final home. I love what Jesus says about Heaven, He calls it “my Father’s house” (read John14:1-6).

We have examples from the OT where Enoch was transported, transplanted from earth to glory. Elijah had the same experience. He was carried by a chariot of fire. One Day when Jesus comes again, the believers in Christ will be transported to Heaven. Do you have this blessed hope? While your body is active and you have a sound mind it is wise to think about your eternal destiny-Heaven or Hell. There on the hill of Calvary stood a cross, because hell is real. If there is no hell, there is no cross. One of the thieves on the cross, though vile and wicked was he, went to paradise (Heaven). All because of God’s grace. All by grace and by grace alone.
