Victory after Failure
Joshua 8:1-29
Join us as we journey through Joshua 8:1–29, where the Lord turns Israel’s earlier defeat at Ai into a decisive victory. After their first attempt ended in failure because of hidden sin and disobedience, God brought His people through a necessary season of cleansing and repentance. Only then did He speak again to Joshua: “Do not fear and do not be dismayed… I have given into your hand the king of Ai.”

In this message, Pastor Paul unfolds how God Himself delivered Ai into Israel’s hands — not because of their strength, but because they were restored to obedience. The battle plan, the ambush, the victory, and the renewal of covenant faithfulness all point to a God who blesses His people when they walk in His ways.

This Old Testament event becomes a powerful picture for us today. We are called to live with expectant victory, but Scripture reminds us that victory is never automatic. It is tied to a life that abides in obedience to the Lord. As Israel learned at Ai, God’s blessing follows God’s order. When we walk in repentance, trust, and obedience, we position ourselves to experience the triumph He has already prepared for His people.
